print spooler no working after install - also have to re-enter UN & PW on some apps so far (no replies)

I just installed Wamp. Within moments the printers all stopped working after install. I restored my PC to an earlier version just before the install today, Updated the windows 10 to the newest version and still not working. I can start the print spooler but then it stops again.

While my computer was starting up I tried a test page from a notepad file and it printed. Then once full startup was complete - nothing. I can see my printers in the devices. They are all stopped.

The login was with CorelDraw - It required me to reenter my username and password. I haven't done a lot of other trouble shooting as of yet - just trying to get my printers working.

I have since uninstalled wamp and I'm now trying to restore to an earlier date a week ago.

Hello, im new here and i try to solve my problem with wamp.
1st of all, i had used wamp for 3 months and it's awesome, i can't help but loved it very much. but, recently i got a problem with it. i've installed it several times on my another laptop which i had installed xampp before. after a clean(im not sure) uninstallation of xampp i tried to instal wamp and there is no problem at all. i can run wamp manager, i can use localhost and all. but the problem is the aestean tray.

This tray always green and show tooltip message on hover. but it never respond to any click(right-left). what i've might be wrong??
1. I run installer as an administrator and so when i run wamp manager
2. IIS is already disabled.
3. i have installed all VC Redist(32-64)
4. no PHP folder left.
5. my hosts file is clean to(i mean there is a # on the start of the document).

What's wrong with my aestean tray??

Hi

I recently downloaded PHP 7.2.13 and everything seems to work except Wordpress will not let me update plugins, it shows the error Update Failed: Download failed. No working transports found

If I swop to a previous version 7.1.25 / 7.0.10 then plugins can be updated without a problem.

I did some research and this seems to be an extension problem, specifically openssl but this is marked as running if I check in the php menu.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Migrating a Wordpress Website Issues (2 replies)

A couple of years ago, I developed my first WordPress website in localhost environment. I used DesktopServer application to do so. Desktop server is using xaamp lite to setup a local server, but provides some interface, so I used this instead of just xaamp lite itself.


What I want to do now, is to revive this website in a new environment, using wamp server so I can do some updates and use this project for my thesis.

I got access to both the files, of the wordpress installation as well as the database.

My knowledge is pretty limited, and I am trying to learn, so please don't be harsh.

So what I have done so far:

1. I've copied all the wordpress files from the old directory.
2. I've exported the Database, and then imported it to the new machine using commandline.\
3. I updated the wp-config.php with the updated info in order to access the new database.
4. Since the website has a .dev extention, I had to either change it or install SSL certificate. I did the second.
5. I've updated the URL changing "http" to "https" and added a "localhost" infront of it.

Now the homepage kinda loads, but if i try to visit some link from the main menu I get this:

I have no idea what that means.

As you can see, I am using an old version of WAMP in order to avoid sql or php incompatibilities.

WAMP server not starting - URGENT!!! (1 reply)

Hi, Im on windows 10 Pro 64 bit.
Just tried to install WAMP and it doesnt work, stays orange and doesnt get green.
It shows 2 out of 3 services running.
When I click on mySQL, it says INSTALL SERVICE, but when I click that, it says the error - MSVCR120.dll missing.

I have followed some tutorials and it asked me to uninstall WAMP server and then install 3 Microsoft addon -

microsoft visual c++ redistributable 2008 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=29), microsoft visual c++ redistributable 2012 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=30679)

Then reinstall wamp and it should work fine.


So, I did but same issue and it doesnt work.

But still nothing works.

Let me know, how to fix this now.

Cannot believe, a simple WAMP server installation takes so much of crap wastage of time.

Cannot Access phpmyadmin from Chrome (no replies)

Greetings to the community. I am trying to setup a new wordpress website, using wamp 3.1.7 64bit on Windows 10 Pro. I've worked with wamp in the past, and had no problems. Today I've updated wamp from v3.0.6 (first uninstalled, rebooted, then installed new version. Now i try to see if everything works, and I found out that i cannot login to phpmyadmin from chrome. I am able to do so via Firefox or the CLI, but chrome refuses to accept the username and password. It will not even return an error message. It just refreshes the page. Any idea why this might happen?

Hello,

I was always bothered by this Wamp message:


Wampserver does not use, modify or require the PATH environment variable.
Using a PATH on Wampserver or PHP version
is detrimental to the proper functioning of Wampserver.


I wish to use Wamp's PHP in cli, so I add it. But I do not understand if that WAMP notice is telling me there's a better way to do it? or is it something that we should avoid and use a different PHP executable that should be added to $PATH

Next Steps After Brand New Installation (2 replies)

1. I have just completed the installation of WAMP on Windows 10.

2. 'phpMyAdmin' gave me an error message that I fixed by stopping all wamp services, going C:\wamp64\bin\mysql\mysql5.7.24\my.ini and uncommenting the line 'skip-grant-tables. Then I restarted all servers and successfully entered 'phpMyAdmin'.

3. There is a strange MySQL80 service running under 'Services'. When I right click it and chose 'Start', I get an error message that the file cannot be found. I have tried deleting this service through the command line, but it is not found. I also tried to find it in the Registry through regedit, but it is not found anywhere in there. I do not know how to remove this from "Services'.

Will this affect me?

4. I have two instances of 'Apache' listening on Port 80: one is on IPv6, and one is on IPv4. Is this how it should be?

5. I have two instances of 'mysqld' listening on Port 3306: one is on IPv6, and one is on IPv4. Is this how it should be?

6. I have two instances of 'mysqld' listening on Port 3307: one is on IPv6, and one is on IPv4. Is this how it should be?

7. Before I go wild creating databases and writing PHP scripts, what other front-end set-up should I do?

8. What resources, such as books, websites, online courses, etc..., exist that I can learn how to manage Apache Servers, PHP, and mySQL?

There are those who have learned by doing and finding work arounds and they can generally find a way to make things work. There are also those who have had some in-depth education and know how and why it all works. Nothing being perfect, I would like to know how these things work together as much as possible, knowing that education goes hand in hand with experience.

I have an orange icon.I have just installed Wamp so that I can install Word Press and play with it. I have the following two messages showing

Too more lines in hosts
Error c:/wamp64 or PHP in PATH.

I am using Windows 10 -64 bit. Wamp 3.1.7 (64 bit), apache 2.4.37, PHP 7.2.4, SQL 5.7.24 (These all mean nothing to me!

I am a total novice at this so if any one can help please could you give me step by step instructions in easy to understand language. Thank you. Diane

Wamp 3 does not show me the second pages of the local site (4 replies)

Hi!

Until yesterday everything worked fine on the test site installed locally based on Wordpress.
From today, well into the backend, I see well the home of the site but when I click on any link on the home page that opens shows the details of the current configuration of Wamp (vers 3.1.4.6 bit) with
Apache 2.4.35 PHP 7.2.10
MySQL 5.7.23

Any suggestions?

What encoding for Bulgarian translation? (no replies)

Hello,

I am translating WAMPserver into Bulgarian but regardless of what encoding I choose for the "settings_bulgarian.php" file, all the text in it is garbled.

I have tried UTF-8, ANSI, Cyrillic (Windows) 1251, etc. Nothing works!

Meanwhile, the file "bulgarian.lang" uses ANSI and all the translated text in it shows just fine.

I don't know what else to try. Please help.
